The experience

A familiar way to watch, on any screen.

I designed the tablet, mobile and desktop experiences around consistent browsing patterns, adapting navigation and carousels to each device. Rich programme artwork did the inviting; the interface helped people move between live TV, on-demand content and what they were already watching.

My contribution

Choose the problems worth solving first.

I combined existing studies, usage reports, reviews and interviews to define the main areas of improvement. Workshops helped the team prioritise discovery, returning to content and clearer search, alongside the broader need for reliability. Those priorities gave the redesign a purpose beyond a visual refresh.

The design decisions

Make it easier to find, and find again.

Continue Watching and favourite live channels addressed return visits. For search, I explored grouping episodes under a programme rather than making people scan a long list of individual results. Prototypes and usability testing helped refine these ideas before detailed requirements and vendor walkthroughs.

What it enabled

One viewing experience across devices.

I delivered the interaction and interface design for the redesign, with prototypes and cross-platform patterns that supported the team through development. The strongest evidence is the work itself and the colleagues who saw it through multiple releases.

“Juan has done a great job as the lead UXer in the redesign of Foxtel Go across multiple releases and devices.”
